Randalls, Tom Thumb And Safeway Pharmacies Ready To Fill Prescriptions Of Hurricane Ike Evacuees

To assist residents evacuating due to Hurricane Ike, Randalls and Tom Thumb stores are reminding all evacuees that they can fill prescriptions at any Randalls or Tom Thumb store pharmacy outside of the storm-affected areas of Texas, or at any pharmacy store in the United States operated by their parent company, Safeway Inc.

Randalls, Tom Thumb and Safeway are part of ICERx (In Case of Emergency Prescriptions), a secure online network available to pharmacists and physicians during times of national emergency. Through the ICERx integrated pharmacy record system, all 1,130 Safeway-operated pharmacies throughout the United States have the ability to fill prescriptions for all evacuees, regardless of whether an evacuee previously used a Randalls, Tom Thumb or Safeway pharmacy. Customers need only answer a few questions to fill a prescription.

The Safeway family of stores includes:

- Safeway (Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Northern California, Oregon, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Washington State, Wyoming)

- Dominick's (Chicago area)

- Vons and Pavilions (Southern California and Las Vegas area)
